“Home and so sad!! Still processing this incredible trip and experience.”

There are trips you take — and then there are experiences that quietly change the way you move through the world afterward.

This spring, I’m inviting a small group to join me in Abruzzo, one of Italy’s most quietly spectacular regions, for six days of movement, nourishment, cultural discovery, and real human connection.

This retreat is not about optimization, biohacking, or rigid wellness rules.
It’s about being in your body, sharing meals that tell a story, moving through beautiful landscapes, and having the kind of conversations that only seem to happen when you slow down enough to let them.

Why Abruzzo?

Abruzzo sits between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine Mountains — wild, agricultural, deeply rooted in tradition, and refreshingly untouched by mass tourism. It’s a place where food is still seasonal, movement is built into daily life, and meals are meant to be shared slowly.

This experience is designed for curious, culture-loving travelers who value nuance, evidence-informed wellness, and the joy of food and life — without extremes.

What Our Days Will Look Like

Each day unfolds with a gentle rhythm: shared movement, memorable meals, and space to connect — with the landscape, with others, and with yourself.

Cycling the Costa dei Trabocchi

We’ll ride along a scenic Adriatic coastal path, ending with a fresh seafood lunch at a historic trabocco — the wooden fishing platforms that define this coastline. It’s joyful, unforced movement followed by one of those meals you’ll remember long after.

Hiking in Fara San Martino

A guided walk through dramatic limestone gorges leads us to an ancient abbey, followed by a pasta-filled lunch in the “Capital of Pasta.” A day that blends awe, history, and the simple satisfaction of eating well after moving your body.

Hands-on Cooking Class

At an organic vineyard, we’ll cook traditional Abruzzese dishes together and enjoy them with local wines. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about learning, tasting, laughing, and understanding food as culture.

Truffle Hunting (Weather Permitting)

We’ll forage for truffles in a secluded grove between the sea and mountains, followed by a farmhouse lunch that celebrates simplicity, seasonality, and place.

A Grand Finale

Our final celebratory lunch takes place at a Michelin-star restaurant, where Abruzzese cuisine is presented with a modern twist — a fitting close to a week rooted in tradition and evolution.

Gut Health, Gently Woven In

Throughout the week, I’ll offer informal workshops and conversations on gut health and culinary medicine, woven naturally into our shared experiences.

Think:

  • How traditional food cultures support gut and metabolic resilience

  • What actually matters for digestion when stress is lower

  • How to eat in a way that supports longevity and pleasure

No lectures. No dogma. Just thoughtful, practical insight — the same way I work with patients, but in a far more relaxed and human setting.

The Heart of the Retreat: The People

What truly makes this retreat special isn’t just the scenery or the food — it’s the people who choose to come.

The conversations over long meals.
The shared movement.
The way the experience stays with you long after you return home.

“Hard to believe it has been a week since our fabulous trip ended. I have thought about the trip — and all of you — all week and talked about both to anyone who would listen.” ❤️

“This was a spectacular week. I loved every minute of it — the education, the planning, and the wonderful company.”

This experience tends to resonate with thoughtful, open-minded people who value evidence-informed wellness, cultural depth, and genuine connection — the kind that doesn’t need forcing and doesn’t end when the trip does.

A Few Practical Notes

Is This Retreat for You?

If you feel a quiet pull — the kind that doesn’t need overthinking — this may be your sign.

There are limited openings remaining, and the next step is to click the link below to get started. We’ll talk honestly about what you’re looking for and whether this experience feels aligned.

Sometimes the most meaningful investments aren’t about doing more —
they’re about choosing to be fully present, together, in a beautiful place.

I hope you’ll join us.
